Overview
EQUS is Alberta’s leading member-owned rural power co-operative, delivering fast, cost-effective electricity to homes, farms, and businesses across the province. In 2021, EQUS partnered with M1 Agency to strengthen their brand, grow membership, and build deeper connections with communities across rural Alberta.


















The challenge
EQUS needed a partner who could translate their cooperative spirit into a competitive advantage—balancing deeply rooted rural values with the demands of a modern, evolving energy market. The challenge was to develop a brand and communications strategy that united a geographically dispersed membership, modernized their digital presence, and clearly articulated the unique economic power of being member-owned.






OUR APPROACH
M1 developed and executed a comprehensive full-service marketing partnership—from research and strategy through creative execution and analytics. We launched multi-channel campaigns spanning programmatic, Meta, Google, print, video, and radio, supported by a new website built for conversion and content flexibility. Our team produced engaging videos, motion graphics, and digital assets that captured EQUS’s commitment to community and performance. We also took the helm of EQUS’s social media channels, using strategic content planning and geo-targeted messaging to boost reach and engagement province-wide.
